Uplift360 and Leonardo Collaborate on Recycling Military Composites
Uplift360 partners with Leonardo to recycle end-of-life military composites into reusable materials. This collaboration aims to enhance sustainability in the defense sector while addressing supply chain security in Europe.

Uplift360 has partnered with Leonardo to recycle military composites, utilizing advanced materials technology. The collaboration aims to integrate Uplift360's composite recycling capabilities with Leonardo's expertise in defense platforms, promoting a circular economy for carbon fibers derived from production waste and end-of-life defense materials.
Uplift360's innovative chemical process preserves the mechanical properties of materials, which include carbon fiber and aramids. This partnership will also support European supply chain resilience amid geopolitical challenges. Uplift360 plans to launch a pilot facility in 2026, processing up to seven tonnes of carbon fiber annually, paving the way for large-scale production and qualification for defense use.
