Urgent Rescue of Feral Cats in Salem Township Ahead of Data Center Development
Friends & Ferals is urgently working to rescue feral cats in Salem Township as demolition for QTS Data Centers' project looms. The organization faces escalating costs and health challenges for the cats, with estimates for the rescue operation reaching $60,000.

Friends & Ferals is coordinating the rescue of approximately 50 to 100 feral cats in Salem Township, ahead of property demolition scheduled for August due to a data center development by QTS Data Centers. The total cost of the rescue operation is estimated to be between $40,000 and $60,000, significantly exceeding initial projections of $5,000 due to a larger-than-expected cat population and health issues among the animals.
The organization is seeking donations, crates, food, and foster homes to manage the influx of cats while also searching for barn homes to accommodate feral cats post-sterilization. QTS Data Centers has stated its commitment to collaborating with Friends & Ferals to ensure the safe relocation of the cats.
