U.S. Army Cyber Command Launches ArCTIC Platform to Cut Software Authorization Time from Months to Hours
The U.S. Army Cyber Command's ArCTIC has developed a platform, the DevSecOps Platform (DSOP), that reduces software authorization time from months to hours. The system streamlines security reviews, allowing for faster implementation of applications within Army networks. A new community DevSecOps (cDSO) automates security assessments, cutting approval times from seven months to approximately two hours. The DSOP is built on GitLab technology and aims to standardize security processes across the Army.

The U.S. Army Cyber Command's ArCTIC has created the DevSecOps Platform (DSOP) to expedite software authorization, reducing the process from months to hours. This platform enhances collaboration and streamlines security reviews, addressing prior delays, such as a six-month review for a COVID-19 contact tracing app.
The community DevSecOps (cDSO) adds automated checks, decreasing approval times from seven months to about two hours. Users can initiate a cybersecurity assessment online, with automated evaluations taking around five minutes. Built on GitLab, the DSOP provides a replicable security framework for Army entities.
