U.S. Army Establishes Multi-Domain Command-Pacific After Successful Experiment
The U.S. Army has initiated Multi-Domain Command-Pacific (MDC-PAC) following a successful operational experiment in December 2024. This new command structure aims to integrate multidomain capabilities across the Indo-Pacific, enhancing operational efficiency and coordination.

The U.S. Army is advancing the Multi-Domain Command-Pacific (MDC-PAC) initiative, merging the 7th Infantry Division with the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force to synchronize multidomain operations in the Indo-Pacific.
A December 2024 operational experiment confirmed the effectiveness of a two-star headquarters for integrating multidomain capabilities, leading to the Army Transformation Initiative. The MDC-PAC includes a Cross-Domain Contact Layer (CDCL) framework, utilizing integrated sensor arrays and artificial intelligence to deliver coordinated effects.
This command structure aims to adapt lessons from global conflicts to enhance operational effectiveness against adversaries. Future exercises will refine this approach, reinforcing the Army's modernization strategy.
