US Judge Allows Orsted to Resume Revolution Wind Project in Rhode Island
A US federal judge has allowed Orsted to resume construction on the Revolution Wind project off Rhode Island, which is nearly complete and part of a $5 billion joint venture with Global Infrastructure Partners. The court found that the prior suspension by the Trump administration over national security concerns violated due process and could lead to significant financial losses for Orsted. The project aims to provide clean energy to over 350,000 homes by 2026, supporting ongoing offshore wind development despite regulatory challenges.

A US federal judge has permitted Danish company Orsted to restart construction on the Revolution Wind project off Rhode Island after the Trump administration's suspension over national security concerns. The project, which is 87-90% complete, is a $5 billion joint venture with Global Infrastructure Partners, expected to power over 350,000 homes.
The court ruled that the suspension violated due process and would cause irreparable harm, with estimated losses of $1.5 million per day for Orsted. The legal ruling supports ongoing offshore wind development amidst regulatory challenges, as the project aims to deliver clean energy by 2026.
