US Navy Awards Lockheed Martin $478M for Submarine Imaging Systems Development
The US Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin a $478 million contract for engineering and production of submarine imaging systems. The contract, issued through its Rotary and Mission Systems unit, includes support for both new and in-service submarines with work expected to continue until March 2036. The contract could total $1.18 billion if all options are exercised, beginning with a $600,000 initial allocation from fiscal 2025. This initiative enhances visual and electronic sensing capabilities for undersea operations.

Lockheed Martin has received a $478 million contract from the US Navy for the production and support of Integrated Submarine Imaging Systems, covering both new and existing submarines. The contract is set to be executed in Manassas, Virginia, and will last until March 2036.
It is structured as an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award, potentially reaching $1.18 billion if all options are exercised. An initial $600,000 will be allocated from the US Navy's fiscal 2025 budget for early engineering work. This contract builds on Lockheed's ongoing program providing critical visual and electronic sensing for submarine operations, including detection and tracking.
