Meanwhile, Google has announced a $7 billion investment in Iowa, which includes a new data center in Cedar Rapids and aims to generate $2.1 billion in economic activity while supporting local communities and STEM education initiatives.

US Signal Co. LLC is investing $200 million to expand data centers in suburban Detroit and Iowa, laying over 1,000 miles of high-density fiber. The expansion includes adding 3 megawatts at the Detroit Metro Data Center and 6 megawatts in Des Moines.
Google announced a $7 billion investment in Iowa, including a new data center in Cedar Rapids and contributions to local nonprofits. Google estimates $2.1 billion in economic activity in Iowa for 2024, focusing on community support and STEM education.
