US$3 Billion Initiative Launched for Southern Africa Development
A US$3 billion initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, renewable energy, and financial inclusion in Southern Africa. The project focuses on mobilizing long-term capital for key sectors, with a significant hydroelectric project planned in Lesotho to tackle energy shortages.

Mr. Noel Mavura has launched a US$3 billion initiative designed to drive infrastructure investment and renewable energy across Southern Africa. The initiative, known as the Green Dollar ecosystem, focuses on mobilizing long-term capital for projects in energy, agriculture, and cross-border trade through structured financial arrangements.
The Green Dollar Coin platform aims to enhance financial inclusion by facilitating digital transactions for individuals and small businesses in areas with limited banking access. A proposed 1,080-megawatt hydroelectric project in Lesotho is expected to supply electricity to the SADC power grid and alleviate regional shortages. The initiative includes investment in youth empowerment and agricultural programs, potentially fostering job creation and regional integration.
