USA Rail Terminals has opened a new transload facility in Monroe, Louisiana, to support the construction of Meta's Richland Parish Data Center. This facility, the second for USART in Louisiana, will handle high-volume movements of materials and is designed to efficiently manage 90-car unit trains. The data center project, covering 4 million square feet, aims to utilize 100% clean energy and is expected to create thousands of jobs during and after construction.

USA Rail Terminals (USART) opened a rail terminal in Monroe, Louisiana, on January 13, to support construction for Meta's Richland Parish Data Center in Holly Ridge. This facility, the second for USART in Louisiana and fourth in the Gulf Coast, will handle high-volume movements of aggregate and bulk materials, facilitating supply for large-scale infrastructure projects.
The terminal is served by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and can manage 90-car unit trains for efficient rail-to-truck transloading. Meta's data center will cover approximately 4 million square feet across 2,000 acres, representing a multi-billion-dollar investment, with construction expected to continue through the decade. The project aims to utilize 100% clean energy and is projected to create thousands of jobs during peak construction, along with permanent positions once operational.
