USDA Appoints Troy Romero as Louisiana State Director for Rural Development

Romero, who resigned from the Louisiana Legislature on December 14, 2023, began his federal role the following day, with support from Governor Jeff Landry. A former agriculture committee chair, Romero was first elected in 2019 and ran unopposed in 2023. He has a background in constructing athletic turf fields and experience in the sugar cane industry.
