USP and PSL to Open Joint International Center for Research and Education in São Paulo
A new joint international center for research, education, and innovation between Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) and the University of São Paulo (USP) is set to open in March at USP's main campus in São Paulo. The 5,380-square-foot facility aims to enhance bilateral scientific cooperation, initially focusing on the circular economy and cell therapy.
The partnership, which began with a framework agreement signed in November 2024, includes an initial fund of approximately €5 million and is coordinated by USP's Fernando Menezes and PSL's Christian Lerminiaux. The center will support integrated actions in research, education, and innovation, with potential expansion into new research fields. This center marks USP's fifth international collaboration under its current internationalization strategy.
