Uttar Pradesh Government Launches Women-Led E-Rickshaw Scheme and Sustainable Development Roadmap
The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has initiated a program to deploy 1,000 women-led e-rickshaws, enhancing women's safety and employment. Concurrently, a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable development aims to increase non-fossil fuel energy to 70% by 2047, positioning the state as a leader in clean energy.

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a 'Safe Mobility Program' providing 1,000 e-rickshaws to women from self-help groups, enhancing safety and employment. This initiative has been implemented in five districts and aims to expand to additional cities, promoting women's safety in transportation.
At the same time, a long-term sustainable development roadmap targets a 70% share of non-fossil fuels in energy capacity by 2047, with incremental goals of 29% by 2029-30 and 45% by 2035-36. The plan includes developing green hydrogen hubs and increasing rooftop solar capacity.
The Yogi government is advancing environmental initiatives including river rejuvenation and disaster risk management. This dual focus on women's empowerment and sustainable development could potentially transform the socio-economic landscape of the state.
