Uzbekistan's President Launches $2.7 Billion Copper Processing Plant at Almalyk Complex
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the third copper processing plant at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, costing $2.7 billion. This facility aims to enhance Uzbekistan's metallurgical capacity and export potential. The project is expected to significantly increase copper concentrate output and create over 6,000 jobs, further contributing to the country's economic growth and development in the mining sector.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched the third copper processing plant at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, costing $2.7 billion. This facility will increase daily copper concentrate output from 2,400 tons to 5,000 tons.
The plant aims to enhance Uzbekistan's industrial potential and create over 6,000 jobs. The country's mining sector has attracted $10 billion in foreign investment, significantly boosting production across various metals. By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to produce 500,000 tons of copper, 175 tons of gold, and 500 tons of silver, with an investment of $22 billion aimed at creating 40,000 high-paying jobs.
