Vedanta Aluminium has installed solar-powered borewells with advanced water purification systems in Odisha's Kalahandi and Rayagada districts, enhancing access to safe drinking water for over 3,000 villagers. The borewells, located in villages such as Chulbadi and Sunger, are powered by 1.5 kW solar units and utilize TSRF™ nanotechnology for purification, capable of processing up to 500 litres per hour.

The systems have been transferred to local Panchayat Raj Institutions to ensure community ownership and long-term sustainability. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in improving water and sanitation.
