Vietnam and Germany Enhance Cooperation on Green Hydrogen Development
A delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) visited the Vietnamese-German University to strengthen collaboration on sustainable development and green hydrogen. The Green Hydrogen Hub Vietnam, inaugurated in October 2025, will support the development of a green hydrogen economy through technology transfer, workforce training, and advanced technology demonstration. GIZ emphasizes the importance of international cooperation and policy frameworks for green hydrogen, highlighting its role in achieving climate neutrality and balancing economic growth with environmental responsibility.

The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) delegation, led by Managing Director Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel, visited the Vietnamese-German University to advance Vietnam-Germany collaboration on energy transition and green hydrogen. The delegation toured the university's facilities and discussed the Green Hydrogen Hub Vietnam, inaugurated in October 2025, which serves as a public-private partnership under the H2Uppp program.
The hub aims to foster a green hydrogen economy through technology transfer, workforce training, and technology demonstration. GIZ highlighted the role of green hydrogen in achieving climate neutrality and the need for coordinated international efforts in policy, technology, and finance.
