Vimercate has approved a €36 million budget for 2026, which includes a new tourist tax aimed at supporting urban renewal and social services. Key allocations feature over €11 million for a swimming pool, €5.9 million for social services, and €4.1 million for environmental initiatives, alongside investments in mobility, education, and public safety. The budget prioritizes support for vulnerable populations and cultural projects, with projected revenues from the tourist tax expected to fund local maintenance and initiatives.

Vimercate has approved a budget exceeding €36 million for 2026, introducing a tourist tax based on hotel star ratings, exempting travelers to hospitals, vulnerable individuals, and minors. The projected revenue of €70,000 will fund maintenance of the Giardino Sottocasa and cultural initiatives.
Major investments include over €11 million for the swimming pool, €5.9 million for social services, and €4.1 million for environmental policies. The budget emphasizes reduced discretionary spending, support for vulnerable groups, and urban renewal projects.
General services and staff salaries will receive €8 million; €2.9 million is allocated for mobility and transport; and €1.3 million for cultural heritage protection. Schools and education will receive €1.24 million for building maintenance, while €1.2 million is dedicated to safety and civil protection. Public works planned for 2026-2028 total €11.5 million, including a data center and renovation of an ex-mafia property for housing support, valued at €1.805 million in partnership with Offertasociale.
