Vinh Long and Sembcorp Discuss Renewable Energy and Eco-Industrial Park Development
On December 22, Vinh Long province and Singapore's Sembcorp Industries held a meeting to explore cooperation in renewable energy and industrial park development. Sembcorp, a leader in energy and urban development, aims to support Vinh Long's sustainable energy transition.
The Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) has facilitated 29 years of industrial growth in Vietnam, covering 12,000 hectares with over $23 billion in investments, benefiting around 340,000 workers. Sembcorp expressed interest in Vinh Long's development priorities for 2026-2030, particularly in green industrial parks, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure. The provincial committee highlighted Vinh Long's advantages, including wind and biomass energy potential, and its strategic position as a logistics hub, with a total power capacity of 6,462 MW and the potential for 30,000 MW of offshore wind power.
