Viscofan and Partners Launch Green Hydrogen Production at Cáseda, Spain as Part of H2OP Project

Viscofan has commenced green hydrogen production at its Cáseda facility in Navarra, Spain, under the H2OP project, developed with Nordex Electrolyzers, AIN, and URAPHEX. This initiative aligns with the Government of Navarra's strategy to promote green hydrogen for decarbonization and industrial competitiveness.

A 500 kW electrolyzer, manufactured in Spain by Nordex, and a water treatment plant have been installed, achieving integration with the boiler in 2 months. The system produces 100 Nm3/h of hydrogen, reducing CO2 emissions by 480,000 kg annually. The project, supported by €838,428.98 from the Government of Navarra and the European Regional Development Fund, exemplifies effective public-private collaboration and positions Navarra as a leader in energy innovation.
