Vivodyne Develops World’s Largest Biological Data Center for Drug Testing
Vivodyne's innovative platform aims to automate drug testing on 3.1 million human tissues annually, potentially reducing animal trials. The advancements align with regulatory shifts in the U.S., particularly the FDA Modernization Act 2.0, promoting alternative testing methods.

Vivodyne has established a biological data center featuring 12 robotic laboratories named HIVE, capable of testing 3.1 million human tissues each year. By producing over 20 functional tissue types, including liver and lung, Vivodyne seeks to enhance drug screening efficiency and reduce reliance on animal testing, where 90-95% of drug candidates fail in human trials after successful animal studies.
Regulatory changes, such as the FDA Modernization Act 2.0, support the shift toward alternative testing methods, creating opportunities for companies delivering credible solutions. However, while promising, the technology currently serves as a preliminary filter rather than a complete substitute for living organisms, with ongoing research needed to fully replicate biological complexities.
