Voith Hydro has secured a contract for two Francis runners at the Santa Uxía hydropower station in Galicia, Spain, marking its first major agreement with operator XEAL. The project aims to modernize the station's operations without altering the existing layout, including dismantling, installing, and refurbishing components to enhance hydraulic efficiency and extend machinery lifespan. XEAL oversees several hydroelectric plants on the Xallas River, totaling 167 MW capacity, including the Santa Uxía reservoir, which regulates the river's flow before it reaches the sea.
