This initiative aims to improve load flexibility in the U.S. power sector amid growing challenges in meeting energy demands.

Voltus and Octopus Energy have partnered to deliver Flexibility-as-a-Service (FaaS) and Bring Your Own Capacity (BYOC) solutions across the PJM, MISO, New York, and California power markets. Starting in 2026, Octopus will provide Voltus with aggregations of residential devices, including smart thermostats and electric vehicles, to enhance Voltus's virtual power plant (VPP) portfolios.
This collaboration aims to help utilities and grid operators manage increasing demand from data centers, projected to grow by up to 30 GW from 2025 to 2030. Voltus's BYOC initiative, launched in September 2025, enables data center developers to integrate their own capacity with utilities. The partnership addresses the growing need for load flexibility as the U.S. power sector faces challenges in meeting demand, particularly from rapidly expanding data center operations.
