Waaree Energies Launches 5.15 GWh Battery Storage Plant in India
Waaree Energies has initiated production at a new battery energy storage facility with a capacity of 5.15 GWh, exceeding initial plans. This expansion aligns with India's increasing reliance on renewable energy and the need for effective storage solutions.

Waaree Energy Storage Solutions has commenced operations at a battery energy storage container manufacturing facility in India, achieving a capacity of 5.15 GWh, up from the initially planned 3.5 GWh. The facility aims to support utility-scale, commercial, and industrial applications as part of a broader goal to reach 20 GWh of energy storage manufacturing by FY 2028.
The company plans to operationalize additional battery-pack and lithium-cell manufacturing units within the same financial year. This development is critical for stabilizing India's power grid amid the growing renewable energy sector, highlighting the importance of local manufacturing to reduce import dependence.
