Wabash Valley Power Alliance to Build 18-Mile Transmission Line in Indiana
Wabash Valley Power Alliance is initiating an 18-mile transmission line project in Indiana, connecting the Elderberry Substation to the Stillwell Substation, aimed at improving service for northern Indiana and Illinois communities. The project, which is in its early stages and not linked to local developments like the Amazon data center, will be funded by the Alliance without taxpayer costs or increased power bills. An open house is scheduled for March, with construction expected to begin in 2027.

Wabash Valley Power Alliance is hosting an open house for an 18-mile transmission line project connecting the Elderberry Substation near New Carlisle to the Stillwell Substation near Fish Lake, Indiana. The project is in early stages and is not associated with other local developments like the Amazon data center or Samsung/GM battery plant.
The transmission line aims to enhance service for members and rural communities in northern Indiana and Illinois. The project will be funded by Wabash Valley Power Alliance, ensuring no cost to taxpayers or increase in power bills.
Planners are currently assessing potential routes and easements to minimize landowner impact. Another open house is scheduled for March, with construction anticipated to start in 2027.
