Waco has secured a $1 million federal funding award for the Flat Creek Water Reuse Project, aimed at enhancing water sustainability and supporting industrial growth. The project will allow for the reuse of treated wastewater, reducing demands on drinking water supplies and extending Lake Waco's resources. The funding, part of a $7 million Phase 1-A initiative, was announced by Congressman Pete Sessions and Waco officials.

Waco has received a $1 million federal award to support the Flat Creek Water Reuse Project, designed to recycle treated wastewater for non-potable uses, thereby alleviating pressure on drinking water supplies. This initiative, announced by Congressman Pete Sessions and Waco officials, was secured through federal appropriations legislation signed on January 23.
The funding initiates Phase 1-A, focusing on improvements within the wastewater treatment plant, part of a broader $58 million plan across four phases. The project aims to reduce drinking water demand, extend Lake Waco's life, and bolster industrial growth in the Waco Industrial Park.
