Wageningen University Develops Plus Ultra III, a CO₂-Negative Lab Building
Wageningen University & Research has unveiled Plus Ultra III, a CO₂-negative lab building covering 7,600 square meters, which includes laboratories, pilot plants, and offices. Constructed mainly with cross-laminated timber and featuring recycled PVC façade panels, the building utilizes solar energy and geothermal storage while promoting a nature-inclusive landscape. It stands as one of the first CO₂-negative lab facilities in the Netherlands.

Plus Ultra III, a multi-tenant building at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands, will feature laboratories, pilot plants, offices, and shared facilities across 7,600 square meters. Built primarily with cross-laminated timber, it is one of the first CO₂-negative lab buildings in the country. The exterior includes recycled PVC façade panels developed with Pretty Plastic, and the building incorporates solar panels, geothermal energy storage, and nature-inclusive landscape elements.
