Walmart will construct a $1.3 billion automated fulfillment center in Georgia, creating 1,000 jobs and enhancing delivery capabilities. The project, set to begin in late 2026, is part of Walmart's strategy to improve shipping efficiency across the U.S.

Walmart is set to invest $1.3 billion in a 1.5 million-square-foot automated fulfillment center in Carnesville, Georgia, with construction expected to commence in late 2026. This facility will generate approximately 1,000 jobs and is part of Walmart's broader plan to enhance same-day and next-day shipping capabilities across the U.S.
In addition to this center, Walmart aims to build multiple next-generation fulfillment facilities, including a fifth location in California, to strengthen its logistics on the West Coast. The company is also retrofitting 23 of its 42 regional distribution centers with automation, with over half of e-commerce fulfillment volume projected to utilize automated systems by 2025. These developments reflect Walmart's ongoing commitment to supply chain enhancements and operational efficiency.
