Warm Springs Tribes Receive $1 Million for Solar and Battery Energy Project
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs were awarded $1 million by the Oregon Department of Energy to install solar and battery systems at three sites on the Warm Springs Reservation. This project, in partnership with Warm Springs Power and Water Enterprises and the Warm Springs Housing Authority, aims to enhance energy sovereignty and reduce costs for residents, providing reliable power during outages. The installations will occur at Park Place Court, West Hills Affordable Housing, and Greeley Heights Community Center.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs secured $1 million from the Oregon Department of Energy's Community Renewable Energy Program for solar and battery energy storage systems at three locations on the Warm Springs Reservation. The project, in partnership with Warm Springs Power and Water Enterprises and the Warm Springs Housing Authority, focuses on energy sovereignty, affordability, and resilience.
Installations will take place at Park Place Court Permanent Supportive Housing, West Hills Affordable Housing, and Greeley Heights Community Center, all of which have received prior energy-efficiency upgrades. The new systems will reduce energy costs, enhance reliability during emergencies, and support future renewable energy initiatives.
