Washington State Public Works Board Awards $4.9 Million for Local Infrastructure Projects
The Washington State Public Works Board has awarded $4.9 million to eight pre-construction projects across Washington. Six of the jurisdictions are in economically distressed areas and eligible for partial grants. The funding targets improvements in drinking water, sewage treatment, and infrastructure development in Chelan, Grays Harbor, Kittitas, Skagit, Spokane, and Yakima counties.

The Washington State Public Works Board (PWB) has allocated $4.9 million to eight pre-construction projects in Washington. Six jurisdictions, including Wenatchee and Entiat, will receive loans to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure, aiding housing development.
Notably, the City of Wenatchee gets a $1 million loan for its wastewater treatment plant. Other allocations include $1 million for Westport's water rights acquisition and $750,000 for Skagit County's water storage tank. PWB emphasizes that this pre-construction funding is essential for making projects shovel-ready and accelerating delivery.
