Washington-Warren Airport Advances Upgrades and Industrial Park Plans
Washington-Warren Airport is set to enhance its facilities with new projects, including a T-hangar and a drone hangar, aiming to establish an industrial park. This initiative aligns with North Carolina's goal to lead in aviation and technology, potentially transforming the region's economic landscape.

Washington-Warren Airport (OCW) is progressing with multiple upgrades, including a T-hangar for private planes and an advanced air mobility hangar for drones, as part of a larger vision to elevate North Carolina's aviation sector. Plans include the establishment of an industrial park aimed at fostering innovation similar to the Research Triangle Park (RTP), with the goal of stimulating job growth and economic development in Beaufort County and eastern North Carolina.
Groundbreaking for the park is anticipated before year-end, pending budget approval from the Washington City Council. The long-term vision includes enhancing community access through increased flight schools and training programs for youth and drone operations, positioning the airport as a significant regional asset.
