The Wellsville council is considering annexation of the 20th Street Heights area to leverage potential benefits from a proposed data center in Yellow Creek Township. Mayor Bob Boley expressed concerns over the village's sewage system usage by the data center, emphasizing the need for annexation to secure benefits.
Council President Keith Thorn indicated that any annexation requires consensus between the village and property owners and approval from the Columbiana County commissioners. Additionally, discussions included possibly annexing Russell Heights, with Council member Aaron Smith suggesting a petition. The council also addressed various operational matters, including financial assistance for a collapsed building and a sewage pump repair estimate.
