West Virginia PSC Approves 140-MW Solar Project by Twisted Gun Solar in Mingo and Logan Counties
The West Virginia Public Service Commission approved a 140-megawatt solar facility by Twisted Gun Solar LLC and Twisted Gun BESS LLC in Mingo and Logan counties. The project, approved on Jan. 28, will not impact rates and is expected to power approximately 84,000 homes daily, create 1,099 jobs statewide, and generate over $2.4 million in annual earnings. Construction must start within five years and finish within ten years.

The West Virginia Public Service Commission has approved a siting certificate for a 140-megawatt solar project by Twisted Gun Solar LLC and Twisted Gun BESS LLC in Mingo and Logan counties. Approved on Jan. 28, the project will not affect residents' rates.
Located on a reclaimed surface mine, it will include around 310,000 solar modules and a 70-megawatt battery storage system. The facility will connect to Appalachian Power's substation through a nine-mile transmission line.
It is projected to power about 84,000 homes, create 1,099 jobs, and generate over $2.4 million annually for West Virginia, with $1.4 million for Mingo County. Construction must commence within five years and be completed in ten.
