West Yorkshire Approves £230M Investment for Transport and Housing Projects
West Yorkshire's Combined Authority has approved £230 million in funding for various projects aimed at improving transport links, housing, and business spaces across the region. Key initiatives include the development of 1,000 homes in Bradford, new business spaces, and enhancements to public transport infrastructure. The funding builds on prior investments and is part of a £2 billion integrated settlement set to take effect in April. This investment is expected to boost the economy and improve living conditions across West Yorkshire.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority has approved £230 million for various infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing transport, housing, and business opportunities across the region. Notable projects include Bradford's City Village programme, which will create 1,000 homes, and the Southern Gateway regeneration, which aims to unlock over 5,000 homes and 23,000 jobs.
Additional funding will support a new Low Carbon Hydrogen plant and improve transport links in Dewsbury and Leeds, including a new railway station for Elland. The investment is expected to significantly bolster the local economy and improve connectivity.
