Westbridge Renewable Energy's Red Willow Solar and Storage Project Approved in Alberta, Canada
Westbridge Renewable Energy Corporation has received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission for the Red Willow solar and battery energy storage project in Stettler County, Alberta. The project, authorized for Red Willow Solar Inc., includes a solar power plant with a capacity of up to 225 MWac and a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of up to 200 MWh.
The project can proceed under regulatory conditions set by the AUC, with interconnection approval applications expected by the end of 2026. Additionally, AUC granted final approval for the Dolcy solar-plus-energy storage project in December 2025, which includes a 300 MWac solar facility and a 100 MW/200 MWh BESS.
