Western Yilgarn Discovers High-Grade Gallium and Tellurium at Ida Holmes Junction in WA
Western Yilgarn has discovered high-grade gallium and tellurium at its Ida Holmes Junction project in Western Australia. Rock chip sampling across two exploration licences, located nearly 40km apart, revealed multiple zones of gallium mineralisation.
The mineralised system remains open in all directions, indicating potential for further extension. A total of 48 samples were analyzed, confirming significant mineralisation of gallium, tellurium, and other metals.
Results from one licence indicated a 1.5km strike length of gallium-bearing zones, while historical data from another site reported gallium grades up to 195.5ppm. Gallium's strategic importance is underscored by its critical role in semiconductors, with Western nations seeking alternative sources due to China's dominance in the market.
