Wheaton Precious Metals Corp has selected Cetos Water as the winner of its Future of Mining Challenge, awarding the company $1 million to further develop its technology that transforms mining wastewater into clean water. This challenge aims to find innovative solutions for sustainable water management in mining.

Finalists included pH7 Technologies and H2nanO, who presented at a technology showcase. The 2026/27 Future of Mining Challenge will open applications later this year, targeting technologies that reduce land impact during mining and processing.
