WHES Launches Microgrid Project in Comoros with Solar and Storage Solutions
A 16 MW solar photovoltaic system combined with a 9.1 MWh storage solution is now operational in Grande Comore. This initiative, funded by the UAE and developed by Global South Utilities, aims to reduce diesel reliance and emissions.

The microgrid system in Grande Comore integrates a 16 MW solar photovoltaic array with 9.1 MWh of energy storage, utilizing WHES Energy Storage Systems' PC-G1 units, which provide 3.9 MW / 9.1 MWh capacity. Funded by the United Arab Emirates and developed by Global South Utilities, this project enhances energy stability and supports renewable energy adoption in Comoros.
Local training initiatives are included to ensure operational sustainability. This development is significant for the region, as it reduces dependency on diesel and promotes cleaner energy solutions, potentially influencing future investments in renewable infrastructure.
