Whitecap Underwriting Europe s.r.o. will begin its space underwriting capacity on January 1, 2026, through its division Whitecap Aerospace. The operation will utilize an A-rated insurer and deploy up to $8 million for launch, commissioning, and in-orbit satellite risks.

Tim Wright will lead the underwriting efforts, supported by David Godley and Mike Hart. Wright's role includes leveraging his market expertise to establish a new insurance class for Whitecap. Godley expressed confidence in achieving profitable results with this new capacity, highlighting the rapid development of the commercial space sector and the growing need for innovative insurance products.
