Wildcat Ridge Data Center Proposal Faces Community Backlash Over Noise Concerns
Residents of Archbald expressed strong opposition to the Wildcat Ridge Data Center due to noise and environmental concerns. The developer, Cornell Realty Management, proposed a $17 million community benefit agreement amidst criticism regarding the sound study methods employed.

Cornell Realty Management seeks zoning approval for an 18-building data center on over 500 acres in Archbald, with projected sound levels of 37 to 42 dBA from the facility. The developer's proposed community benefit agreement totals $17 million for local programs.
Critics raised issues regarding the sound study methodology, noting that not all sound meters used were ANSI-certified, which may violate borough ordinance requirements. The study included noise projections from 588 diesel generators, which increased from an earlier count of 574.
Residents voiced concerns about health impacts and environmental changes, arguing that the project's noise and size threaten the community's quality of life. The hearing has been continued to June 15 for further discussion.
