Windpark Schoteroog and Iron Mountain Plan Two New Wind Turbines in Waarderpolder

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Energy cooperative Windpark Schoteroog and data center Iron Mountain plan to replace four old wind turbines at Schoteroog in Waarderpolder with two new turbines. The project aims to provide stable and affordable clean energy to residents and businesses in Haarlem for at least fifteen years, with locally generated power partially used locally.

Residents and businesses can become co-owners of the new turbines through Windpark Schoteroog. Iron Mountain will invest in the project and purchase fifty percent of the sustainably generated electricity for its data center. The next step involves applying for an environmental permit, with the turbines to be installed on a former landfill site in Waarderpolder, near Schoteroog.
