Wirral Community Groups Receive Nearly £50,000 from Burbo Bank Offshore Wind Fund
Five community groups in Wirral, including those in Birkenhead, Wallasey, Seacombe, and Leasowe, have been awarded almost £50,000 from the Burbo Bank Extension Community Fund. Notable recipients include the Wirral Society of the Blind and Partially Sighted, which received £14,110 for roof repairs, and Wallasey Village Library, which received £12,891 for renewable energy upgrades. The fund aims to provide £225,000 annually to local projects and has distributed over £2.3 million since its launch in 2015.

Five Wirral community groups have received nearly £50,000 from the Burbo Bank Extension Community Fund for various projects. The funding includes £14,110 for roof repairs at Ashville Lodge Community Centre, £12,891 for renewable energy upgrades at Wallasey Village Library, and £10,000 for window installations at Seacombe United Reformed Church.
Additionally, Friends of North Wirral Coastal Park and UK Unplugged CIC received £5,000 each. The Burbo Bank offshore wind farm, operated by Ørsted, has committed to providing around £225,000 annually for community funding, with over £124,000 allocated this year alone.
