Wizz Air Passenger Numbers Rise 8.5% in January; AG Barr Acquires Fentimans and Frobishers
Wizz Air reported an 8.5% increase in passenger numbers year-on-year for January, carrying 5.35 million travelers and achieving a load factor of 84.4%. The airline's capacity rose 10.5% to 6.34 million seats, and it surpassed 500 million cumulative passengers since its inception, expanding its network to 1,000 routes across over 50 countries.
AG Barr acquired soft drink manufacturer Fentimans for £38 million and juice producer Frobishers for £13 million to capitalize on declining alcohol consumption. The company expects full-year results to align with expectations, reporting a 4% revenue increase to £437 million.
Additionally, Riverford reported a 6% rise in sales to £117 million in the organic market, driven by consumer demand for healthy food.
