Women in South African Mining: GeoAxis Resources Drives Technical Support
Women-owned GeoAxis Resources enhances South Africa's mining sector by providing essential geological consultancy services. Their work supports junior mining companies, helping them navigate exploration and regulatory compliance to improve project viability.

GeoAxis Resources, founded by geologists Nangamso Magobiyane and Ntombifuthi Mavimbela, is focused on supporting junior mining companies through critical phases such as exploration and mine planning. The consultancy evaluates technical risks and regulatory compliance, conducting detailed assessments before project progression, particularly in platinum group metals and gold sectors.
Recently, they completed risk assessments in Rustenburg, aiding operators in safely resuming operations. The firm also aims to enhance industry knowledge by engaging with the Mining Qualifications Authority to provide practical training for graduates, addressing the skills gap in the mining sector.
