Woodbourne Group has launched the £90 million Birmingham BioCity, a 130,000 sq ft life sciences facility at MIPIM in Cannes. This is the first UK Investment Zone life sciences building outside London, targeting SMEs from London and Cambridge.

Located in the Birmingham Knowledge Quarter, it provides tax incentives and reduced business rates. A walking route will connect the site to HS2 Curzon Street station in eight minutes. The facility is part of a £400 million partnership with Hines and is expected to unlock £210 million in investment.

Birmingham BioCity is Phase 1 of a 600,000 sq ft development pipeline, addressing the high demand for Grade A lab space in the UK. The building aims for BREEAM Outstanding and WiredScore Platinum ratings.
