A World War II-era practice bomb was found at a construction site near Freedom 7 Elementary School in Cocoa Beach, prompting a response from military personnel at Patrick Space Force Base. The 45th Explosive Ordnance Disposal team confirmed the device was a non-explosive ordnance designed with a smoke charge for training exercises.

Initially identified by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the bomb was deemed safe to move and transported to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station for disposal. The EOD team supports launches from Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center and collaborates with local authorities for public safety.
