On February 24, the Wrangell borough assembly unanimously approved a three-year lease with JAG Marine Group to evaluate the development of a shipyard at the 6-Mile Mill property. This shipyard is a key element of a broader redevelopment initiative that includes a new barge ramp, freight yard, and a privately operated small data center. Borough Manager Mason Villarma emphasized that the short-term lease is essential for building momentum in the partnership with JAG Marine Group.
