Wright Twp. Doubles Business Recycling Permit Fee to $250; Slocum Twp. Improves Memorial Park
Wright Township supervisors have approved a doubling of the business recycling permit fee from $125 to $250, while maintaining lower fees for residents and other Mountain Top residents. Meanwhile, Slocum Township is enhancing Memorial Park with twelve new memorial benches and upgraded sports courts, funded by Luzerne County grants, as well as planning further improvements to park walkways. Additionally, Fairview Township appointed Patrick Rushton as auditor and urged residents to remove vehicles from roadways during snowstorms.

Wright Township supervisors voted to increase the recycling permit fee for businesses from $125 to $250 at their January meeting. The recycling center is available to businesses on Wednesdays and to residents on Saturdays, with no charge for Wright Twp. residents.
The permit fee for other Mountain Top residents remains at $30. The costs for yard waste compost center permits will stay at $25 for township residents, $50 for other Mountain Top residents, and $250 for businesses.
Additionally, amendments to the data center ordinance were approved. Slocum Township is enhancing Memorial Park, having raised enough funds to install twelve memorial benches, with plans for two more. Recent renovations include upgraded basketball and tennis courts funded by $111,650 in Luzerne County LSA grants.
Remaining funds will be used for park walkway improvements. Fairview Township appointed Patrick Rushton as auditor and advised residents to clear vehicles from roadways during snowstorms.
