Wärtsilä Invests €140 Million in Vasklot Expansion for Technology Center and Production Capacity Increase
Wärtsilä plans to expand its technology center in Vasklot, investing €50 million to enhance fuel and engine testing facilities, expected to complete by Q1 2028. Additionally, a new office section for employees in Runsor will cost €20 million, with 3,800 employees projected to work at Vasklot. Total investment in Vasklot reaches €400 million, driven by rising demand for engines and gas power plants, particularly for data centers in the US.

Wärtsilä is expanding its technology center in Vasklot with a €50 million investment, set to complete by Q1 2028, to facilitate fuel and engine testing. An additional €20 million expansion for office space will accommodate employees from Runsor, with 3,800 expected to work at Vasklot.
Total investments in the facility now amount to €400 million, driven by increased demand for engines and gas power plants, especially for US data centers. Wärtsilä's 2025 revenue grew by 7%, with adjusted operating profit up 23%. The company secured significant US contracts for gas power plants totaling 789 megawatts.
