Wyda Packaging Acquires Hulamin Assets to Lead Foil Manufacturing in Sub-Saharan Africa
Wyda Packaging has acquired key assets from Hulamin Containers, becoming the largest aluminium foil container manufacturer in sub-Saharan Africa. This acquisition enhances local manufacturing capacity and supply reliability in the food service and retail sectors.

Wyda Packaging has acquired operational assets from Hulamin Containers, positioning itself as the largest manufacturer of aluminium foil containers in sub-Saharan Africa. The deal increases Wyda's operational capabilities, adding 17 presses and over 200 moulds, expanding its total to 22 presses and 250 moulds, and allowing the company to convert around 1,000 tonnes of aluminium annually in a local market of 2,000 tonnes.
This move addresses supply disruptions in a critical packaging sector. Wyda aims to diversify its offerings beyond foil containers, including household foil and pre-packs, while focusing on sustainable practices in its growth strategy. The integration of Hulamin's operations preserves specialist knowledge and aims to stabilize the local supply chain.
