Wyoming Cancels Wind Farm Leases for Pronghorn H2 and Sidewinder Projects
Wyoming officials have canceled state land leases for the Pronghorn H2 and Sidewinder wind projects, effectively halting both initiatives. The decision followed a 3-2 vote by the state land commission, citing public opposition and a court ruling that invalidated a lease for Pronghorn due to regulatory noncompliance. Focus Clean Energy, the developer, has reduced the project's area by 70% and eliminated its hydrogen production component. The company plans to appeal the court decision.

Wyoming state officials have moved to cancel leases for the Pronghorn H2 and Sidewinder wind farm projects, following a 3-2 vote by the state land commission. This decision was influenced by public opposition and a December court ruling that deemed a lease for the Pronghorn project invalid for not complying with state regulations.
Focus Clean Energy has since reduced the project's size from over 57,000 acres to approximately 16,571 acres and removed the hydrogen production aspect. The developer plans to appeal the court's ruling, expressing confidence in a favorable outcome.
