X1 Wind's X100 Floating Offshore Wind Platform Receives DNV Certification
X1 Wind's X100 floating offshore wind platform has received a statement of compliance for basic design from DNV, confirming its adherence to safety and technical standards. This certification validates the platform's structural design, stability, and response to extreme conditions, facilitating the certification process for larger commercial units.
The company has contracts for the X150 version, designed for 15-20MW turbines in Europe and Asia. The X100 will be tested at the PLEMCAT site in the Mediterranean as part of the EU-funded NextFloat Project, which seeks to accelerate floating wind industrialization and reduce energy costs. The platform supports turbines ranging from 6 MW to 10 MW and aims to provide data for final prototype certification.
